Minister Amb.Soline Nyirahabimana challenges women to mainstream gender

Kigali 30 Kamena 2019- The call was made this Friday 30 August 2019 during the 18th National Women’s Council General Assembly that took place from the Parliament.

The Minister underlined that there have been misunderstanding towards gender equality and this hamper the family wellbeing and the country’s development at large; hence calling women to take part in mainstreaming it across different sectors.

 ‘Women/Mutimawurugo; I am challenging you to mainstream gender equality best practices in order to achieve the country’s desired development.’ She announced

The Minister Amb. Soline accentuated that: ‘Gender Equality doesn’t mean subjugation, neither being deviant, nor being belittled but it aims at removing the barriers so that we help each other to reach the quick and lasting development’  

The Minster recalled that gender equality means enjoying equal rights and equal opportunities at all levels be it political, economic, medical, education and at decision making level, at household without any oppression based on whether you’re a male or female whatsoever. Amb. Soline added that there should be complementarity between men,women and all family members, in order to enjoy equal opportunities at all level.
