MIGEPROF Weekly News | Updates from 22 - 26 August 2022.

Digitalization’s in women empowerment and Gender Mainstreaming will be a core focus in the joint projects between MIGEPROF & CARE International.

On Thursday Aug 25, 2022 Mr. Silas NGAYABOSHYA, Director General for Gender Promotion and Women Empowerment Directorate received a delegation from CARE Rwanda and CARE Norway Led by Kaj Martin Georgsen, National Director at CARE Norway.

Their exchange focused on key successes made in promoting gender equality, women Empowerment and possible ways to strengthen the partnership under GEWEPIII projects, DEAL projects and CARE programs at large. Care Rwanda & MIGEPROF discussion settled on implementing and administering digitalization in women empowerment and gender mainstreaming for joint projects that mainly focuses in rural area and vulnerable populations.

Rwanda has joined Generation Equality Forum and made commitments to advance technology and innovation to close gender digital gap especially among women and girls

It was highlighted on 24 August 2022 by Mrs. Mireille BATAMULIZA, Permanent Secretary at MIGEPROF on behalf of Prof. Jeannette BAYISENGE, the Minister of Gender and Family Promotion while delivering a statement entitled: Closing Digital Gender Gap: Women’s Participation in the Digital Economy and Future Work during The G20 Ministerial Conference on Women’s Empowerment (MCWE).

The G20 Ministerial Conference on Women’s Empowerment (MCWE) held on 24-25 August 2022 in Bali under the theme of “Recover Together, Recover Stronger to Close Gender Gap”.  The G20 works to address major issues related to the global economy, such as international financial stability, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development.
