Honorable Soline NYIRAHABIMANA assumes office, vows to boost efforts in tackling issues affecting the family

Kigali- 21 October 2018-The handover ceremony between the outgoing and incoming MIGEPROF Ministers took place on Monday, 21 October 2018. It was witnessed by the Permanent Secretary Mrs. UMUTONI GATSINZI Nadine and other National Gender Machinery institutions’ staff.
The newly-appointed Minister, Honorable Soline NYIRAHABIMANA thanked President Kagame for the trust and giving her an opportunity to serve as Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, adding that she is committed to sustain, and leverage the achievements made in Gender Equality and Women Empowerment areas.
Speaking to press right after the handover, Honorable NYIRAHABIMANA said: ‘I am aware that our society faces many challenges and I am committed to work with all citizens to tackle them.  We want to partner with family members, women, men, youth so that we end family conflicts, delinquency that result in drug abuse, prostitution that cause early pregnancies.’  
Honorable NYIRASAFARI Espérance who was moved to the Ministry of Sports and Culture greeted President Kagame's good leadership which gave women 'Agaciro' and allowed them to contribute to the country's development.
She also saluted the commendable achievement during her 2-years tenure at the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion, stressing that it was achieved due to the teamwork spirit among staffs that compose the National Gender Machinery institutions.
Honorable Soline NYIRAHABIMANA was appointed last week, Thursday 18 October 2018, in a cabinet reshuffle that was announced by the Prime Minister’s Office. She, and other appointed cabinet members took oath the following day in front of the President of the Republic.
