First Lady Jeannette Kagame hosts End of Year Children’s Party

Kigali-10 December 2018- The End of Year Children’s colorful Party took place on Sunday, 9 December 2018 and attended by over 200 children, aged between 7 and 9 years old, drawn from all district countrywide.

They showcased their talents varying from reciting poems, dance and other sorts of games in front of the First Lady before they join her to cut the cake.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady wished them a joyful festive season together with their families, but challenged them to always be ambitious in their lives and aim higher, to set goals and strive to achieve those goals.

‘Upon arriving back home, set your monthly goals that you want to achieve. This is the right time to set annual goals. We have heard from you and what you want, our partners have listened to you and we will make sure that we achieve what you want. Converse with your parents and guardians on what you went through at school, don’t shy away from discussing with them what is deep in your hearts, seek advice from your parents before you seek them from anyone else.’ Noted the First Lady

HE Jeannete Kagame added: “You have different talents in you, I wish to encourage you to continue exploring and make good use of your talents to become more productive”.

Some children entertained the First Lady and those who were present. They recited poems, songs and played different games.

The children who attended the End of Year Children’s Party are born from poor families, those with disability, orphans and those with brilliant talents or have scored with excellence in their studies.
