Wednesday, 24th June 2010, at MINAFFET, women Ministers and Parliamentarians met and discussed how they can set up a network in which they will share information and discuss issues related to Gender and women empowerment. Chaired by Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Dr Jeanne d’Arc MUJAWAMARIYA, the meeting was discussing the way this consultative Forum can be operational, what will be its role, mission and focus. |

GENDER CLUSTER BUREAU ELECTED |

Tuesday, 21st June 2010, at Hotel Le Printemps, different stakeholders in the area of Gender met to discuss the way to establish a bureau of gender cluster made up of a Chair, Co-chair and secretariat. In her opening remarks , the Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Dr Jeanne d’Arc MUJAWAMARIYA, reminded the participants that this cluster is for all those who intervene in the area of gender, to help avoid duplication, create synergy among partners and to set up a coordination mechanism. |

THE DAY OF AFRICAN CHILD CELEBRATED AT RUHANGO DISTRICT |

At 01:00 pm, Wednesday , 16th June 2010 at Ruhango District were gathered almost 5000 children to celebrate the Day of African Child in combination with International day of the Family and International day to fight against child labor with the Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Dr. Jeanne d’Arc MUJAWAMRIYA officiating the ceremony. This year, the theme is “Planning and budgeting for the wellbeing of the child with children: a collective responsibility”. |
