STREET CHILDREN TRANSIT CENTERS TO IMPROVE THEIR FUNCTIONING

The Participants in the Meeting

On Tuesday, 27 October 2009, at Hotel le Printemps, MIGEPROF convened a meeting with the heads of Transit Centers and institutions in charge of street children.

The meeting was officially opened by Mr. KALISA Francois, the General Director in MIGEPROF. In his opening remarks, he stressed the main objective of the meeting which was to put in place concrete and solid program to prevent children to go in the street. As he put it “concrete plan should also be in performance contract and be signed between those institutions and the Ministry that have children in charge”.

WORLD RURAL WOMAN DAY CELEBRATED AT KIREHE DISTRICT

Thursday, 15^th October 2009, at kirehe district in the Eastern province, the WORLD RURAL WOMAN DAY was celebrated by the people together with National Women Council, MIGEPROF staffs and Réseau des femmes oeuvrant pour le development rural. The theme was “Umugore wo mu cyaro ni umusingi mu guhanga udushya” loosely translated as the rural woman is the foundation to creativity. As the guest of honor, MUKANTABANA Mary, Vice-President of the Senate pointed out “it is the second time that this day is celebrated at Kirehe because they have shown an interest in creativity.”
