CHILDREN LIVING WITH THEIR MOTHERS IN PRISONS HAVE BEEN MOVED TO ORPHANAGES |

This Thursday, 21st January 2010, at Gisenyi, Ruhengeri and Muhanga central prison , 13 children from 3 to 6 years old who were living with their mothers have been put into orphanages. 9 girls and 4 boys from the above mentioned prisons, were moved with the permission of their mothers and the prisons’ authorities to respectively 2 orphanages: “Amis de Jesus de Ruli of Gakenke Dostrict welcomed 3 boys and Home Amizero de Kinazi of Ruhango District welcomed 10 children 7 girls and 3 boys”. |

MIGEPROF takes the lead in women empowerment |
 women from Twifatanye mu Iterambere cooperative One of the mandates of MIGEPROF is empowering women and making sure that their rights are respected. Poverty as one of barriers to development has forced most women into hopelessness; most of them do whatever they can for their families’ survival. It is in this perspective that the Ministry organizes training for vulnerable women or those in misery and helps them get out of poverty. There have been two months now that former women sex workers and beggars have received training on IGA (Income Generating Activities) and other national development programs, MIGEPROF has provided 33 Million Rwandan Francs through cooperatives to support these women. |
