A countrywide dissemination, at Sector level, of the recommendations from the 5th Children’s Summit

children participants in the 5th National Children SummitMIGEPROF, in partnership with the Districts, has just organized a countrywide Restitution of the recommendations from the 5th National Children’s Summit (NCS) held in Kigali on 12 November 2009. The event took place from 14th to 16th April 2010.

MIGEPROF agents, on 14 and 15, organized preparatory sessions in all the Districts with the staff in charge of social affairs from the Sectors.  Supporting documents were distributed which included, among others, the full report of the 5th Summit and a brief summary of the recommendations to be used by the children’s delegates.

Early Childhood Development Centers to prevent child abuses

On 5th April 2010 at Musanze District in Tero Sector Early Childhood Development Centers were officially launched by Hon. Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Dr. Jeanne d’Arc MUJAWAMARIYA.

In her opening remarks she stressed the importance of those ECD Centers in these terms” the Early Childhood Centers will educate the children about loving each other, loving their country, it would be also an opportunity for them to play with others while being protected from evil people who can abuse or perpetrate violence against them”.

VULNERABLE FAMILIES RECEIVED GOATS

Monday, 22nd March 2010, in Kayonza District, over 300 vulnerable families received goats from Rwanda Society for Women and Aids in Africa (SWAA Rwanda), a local non-government organization.

SWAA Rwanda is implementing a Global Fund Project based in the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion (MIGEPROF) that aims at helping families break away from poverty.

The donation ceremony was presided over by Hon. Dr. Jeanne d’Arc MUJAWAMARIYA Minister of MIGEPROF. Each of the 300 families received a goat. The same action will take place in the other 9 Districts (Ngoma, Kirehe, Burera, Musanze, Rusizi , Nyamasheke,  Nyanza, Huye and Gisagara) covered by the project.
